Why are we asking people to buy books for schools???
1 in 8 schools in England do not have a library or designated reading space, rising to 1 in 4 schools in the most disadvantaged communities.
There’s no ring-fenced budget for primary school libraries, as they’re not required legally. As a result, many teachers use their own money to buy new books due to a lack of funding.
