Our Favourite World Book Day Books
Updated: Jun 26
World Book Day is one of those days you truly miss once you're not a kid anymore and not at school. I remember my class buzzing with excitement as the teachers handed out the £1 book token vouchers. I remember peering out the window during Maths as we saw the librarian set-up the portable shelves filled with books. I remember specifically deliberating for ages which book to get with my voucher, Darren Shan or Jaqueline Wilson... Darren Shan, Or Jacqueline Wilson. At one point I remember a teacher telling me that I had to choose now, or fear not getting a book at all. World Book Day was a highlight of my school calendar, as there's nothing better than joining the reading revolution.
This year, the theme of World Book Day 2020 is to share a million stories, because who doesn't love a good story? It's great to get kid's of all ages excited about reading and story-telling, and what better way than with World Book Day on 5th March? And that's why here at The Book Nook we have chosen some of our favourite World Book Day £1 token books that we want to share with you. We hope our story choices inspire you to get down to your local library, school, or Book Nook, and celebrate World Book Day.
If you can't however, visit a magical bookish place tomorrow, not to worry. Your £1 book token will be valid until the 29th March 2020, so there's plenty of opportunity to join in and share your stories.
